Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up Catholic in Norwell, MA and was saved in an alcohol/drug detox in Norfolk MA on Feb 22 1986. I went thru Teen Challenge, then went to Moody Bible Institute and Dallas Seminary. I also got a degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College, Boston in 1977.
What was your motivation behind this project? I started out in seminary putting out a photocopied (and handwritten I might add!) list for our bookstore. Over the next six years I self- published and distributed seven booklets. God saw fit to have a regular publisher show interest in 2003.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This new edition is 120 pages longer. In addition to covering all new titles from 2004-2006, there are many more forthcoming commentaries listed plus two new chapters on exegetical software. Also, the Ultimate Commentary Collection is split between exegetical and expositional selections (two sections)
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I read history (esp. American) for relaxation. I also listen to all kinds of music, especially alternative folk (Patty Griffin, Annie Lennox, Jeff Buckley) classic rock (CSNY, Jeff Beck, old Fleetwood Mac [Peter Green]) Celtic (Van Morrison, Capercaillie, Damien Rice, Maura O'Connell) and Christian (Charlie Peacock, CeCe Winans, Cathedral Quartet).
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I work as a freelance academic proofreader for such companies as Broadman, Zondervan, Hendrickson, Kregel, etc. Recently I have begun to publish essays and reviews in theological journals in addition to updating my commentary survey. Presently I am reviewing books by outsiders (Sheler, Mann, El-Faizy, Balmer, Sandler) looking inside evangelical America.
